Otaru and Sapporo Day 2 Free and Easy (1/5/2016) - Part 2

Never Enough of Sakaimachi Street, Otaru

There are a lot to see, shop and to eat along the Sakaimachi Street. Some of the things that I find it interesting here are....
A street with old Japanese-style buildings - makes me wonder how beautiful is this place during winter.
Many stalls with friendly staffs trying to promote their products. I admire their energy and professionalism in sales. Most of the stalls give out free samples and they are not pushy at all even we we didn't buy anything there.
Saw some cool bikers taking a break here.
We don't really see policemen very often here. Yet, we managed to spot this patrol officer in front of the two famous bakery - Rokkatei (left) and Kitakaro (right). I personally prefer Kitakaro because of their cakes and cream puff.
This is their production of the layered cake. Must try!
Another MUST TRY at Kitakaro is their Super Tasty Yume Fushigi (Cream Puff). We purchased the cream puff set at 515 Yen.
First bite of the cream puff, you will get the best sensation of delicious cream flowing out. The puff will then melt together with the cream in your mouth, triggering a special aroma and make you feel so relax, happy and satisfied. The feeling is so magical! Try it yourself and you will know how it feels....I can never forget this feeling!!!
Love this cream puff so much...Muak Muak!!!!
There are some stalls that sell fresh clams and oysters. You just need to choose the items you want and they will cook it for you immediately to dine in or take-out.
Other fresh seafood available to take home...but not for me :)
Green shop means maccha products. Any fan?
Finally, we came to this fruits stall to taste the most expensive slice of melon that I have ever had in my life. I must say that it is really worth a try because it is really special. The business is very good too.
For 1,000 Yen, we tried two slices of the icy cold melon. The soft and sweet melon just melt in the mouth, amazing!
If you come with a family, you may want to buy the whole melon instead of a slice. Check out the different categories and the price difference. This reminds me of the durian stalls in Malaysia.

Time flies and it is time to leave Otaru. While we walked towards to the Otaru Railway Station, we stopped by to take some pictures at this old railway road.
The unused railway road is now a tourist spot for photography. Even 'Choegraphy' got the chance to help some Japanese girls to take pictures.
1, 2, 3 - Egao!!!
After all the fun and food, we have to say goodbye to Otaru for now. I am sure we will be back again to see Otaru in winter!
